Pawandeep Rajan from Uttarakhand is the winner of Indian Idol 12. Pawandeep Rajan, who has always performed well on the show, was announced as the winner on Sunday’s reality show. He won a trophy, a car and a $2.5 million cash prize. Arunita Kanjilal and Sayali Kamble won the second and third place respectively. They each received a cheque for 500,000 rupees. Mohd Denmark and Nihal Tauro were nominated as the third and fourth finalists respectively, each winning a check of Rs 300,000. The Indian Idol 12 finale begins at 12 noon on Independence Day and lasts until after midnight.
The official Sony TV Twitter user who aired “Indian Idol 12” announced that Pawandeep Rajan was the winner of the oldest singing reality show. He shared a tweet: “Jinki kismat mein likhi thi jeet, jinke taaron mein likha tha khitaab , Unn #IdolPawandeep ko jeet ka salaam! Congratulations to #IdolPawandeep for your epic victory, you made history! India loves you!”
Another Sony TV tweet read: “Congratulations to Pawandeep Rajan for winning this epic victory, he is truly a success!”
Indian Idol 12 premiered in November last year. It ran for nearly 9 months before the 12-hour finale of Independence Day. Many celebrities such as Shershaah stars Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra appeared in the Indian Idol 12 finale. Famous singers such as Kumar Sanu, Sukhwinder Singh, Mika Singh, Amit Mishra, Javed Ali, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan were also fascinated by the audience through their melodious performances.
Udit Narayan’s son and singer Aditya Narayan is the host of the show. He shared with his father the pictures of episode 12 of Indian idols on Sunday and wrote: “I have the honor to share the stage with my father and perform together…, Padma Bhushan Udit Narayan in the #IndianIdol Finals”.
