The Gujarat police on Wednesday arrested five persons in connection with two high-profile cases: murder of a journalist in Junagadh and abduction of a medical college dean and social and health expert. Three persons were arrested for allegedly killing Kishor Dave, a journalist in Junagadh, after a payment dispute on Monday.

In the case of Dr. Rajesh Mehta’s abduction Kalpesh Patel and Hitendrakumar Patel were arrested and Dr. Mehta was rescued by the police. The duo demanded Rs. 2 crore after kidnapping Dr. Mehta on August 19.
